dB-Shield® Zen Extra Soft - Custom-Molded Earplugs for Sleep

dB-Shield® Zen Extra Soft is Audiovox' premium custom-molded sleep earplug, individually fitted to each user's ear canals and offering noise reduction of up to 35 dB. Because they are molded to your ears, they seal tightly and stay securely in place, so they won't fall out during the night.

If you've tried other earplugs for snoring that caused irritation, or if you simply have sensitive ear canals, dB-Shield® Zen Extra Soft offers something different. They're made from the softest medical-grade silicone on the market, roughly twice as soft as traditional sleep plugs, so you can wear them all night without soreness in the ear canal, for comfortable, uninterrupted sleep.

They're specifically designed so you can sleep on your side without feeling them, a common problem with standard earplugs that tend to protrude. They reduce both high-frequency and low-frequency sounds, including the low tones that ordinary earplugs usually let through. What to expect

It's worth knowing that dB-Shield® Zen Extra Soft is designed to reduce and soften disruptive noise, not to create complete silence. No earplug can remove all sound, because sound doesn't only travel through the ear canal; it's also perceived through the skull and the body's bones. This is especially true of deep or powerful sounds such as snoring, traffic, closing doors, and nearby voices.

The purpose, then, is to make sounds less noticeable and less disruptive, so it becomes easier to fall asleep and stay asleep, while still allowing you to register important signals like a fire alarm, an alarm clock, or other sounds around you. The level of reduction you experience will vary with the type, volume, and distance of the sound.

Sleeping with custom-molded earplugs also takes some getting used to. We therefore recommend wearing them for at least five nights in a row, giving both your ears and your brain time to adjust to the fit and the changed sound experience.
